Biography
Terry MacLaughlin grew up in Newton, Massachusetts learning to play ice hockey on the Charles River as a kid. He played for Newton High School,and then went on to play at Colgate University, a Division 1 hockey program located in Hamilton, New York.
Terry’s career in the ice skating industry began at Ice Pro, an international ice rink construction company in Syracuse, NY. He worked as Vice President of construction services for Ice Pro throughout the United States and was involved with building over 50 ice rinks ranging in size from community sized facilities to NHL arenas seating over 15,000 people.
MMD
In 1993, Terry founded MacLaughlin Management & Design of Exeter, New Hampshire to provide owners and operators of ice skating rinks with consulting services including feasibility studies, facility design, construction management, and operational management. MM&D has consulted on ice rinks throughout the country working with universities, private schools, municipalities and private investor groups planning to build new ice rinks or renovate existing ones.
US Arena Supply
Terry also founded US Arena Supply, an ice rink accessories company, which provides ice rink operators with a wide range of products and services including ice paint, skate resistant rubber flooring, goals, netting, rental skates, and dasher board components. US Arena Supply also paints the ice at over 35 rinks each year including the white base, hockey markings, and logos.
